MCA Mite Box
Scripturally inspired by Jesus' parable of the "Widow's Mite" (Luke 2:1-4), the Mite Box Program is designed to encourage young people to give from their hearts.
Who Will Your Mite Box Help?
As a part of the Pope’s Mission Societies, the Missionary Childhood Association (MCA) gives 100% of your tax-deductible donation to millions of impoverished children throughout the world who lack clean water, food to eat, education, a bed to sleep in, safety, healthcare, and hope.
How Does A Mite Box Work?
It's as easy as 1-2-3.
STEP 1. Order your FREE Mite Boxes at wmo@archmil.org or 414-758-2283. (Please provide the number needed and a mailing address)
STEP 2. Put it somewhere when it arrives – maybe the dining room table, a nightstand, the cupholder in your car – that you and your family will be sure to see it frequently. Each day during Lent, Advent, or World Mission Month, place your spare change or cash in the mite box, knowing that every penny – and dollar! – you collect will go directly to help a child in need in the Pope's missions.
STEP 3. Send the donations when to the Missionary Childhood Association, Archdiocese of Milwaukee by check or by donating online.
Who Should Order A Mite Box?
A Mite Box is a wonderful Lenten project for parents, grandparents, schools, religious education programs, youth groups, and parishes! Children and adults will gain a greater awareness of the urgent needs of those around the world by participating in this project.
The "widow’s mite" from the Gospel had a mighty impact and yours will too!
A Mile of Pennies for the Global Missions
When Pauline Jaricot, foundress of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, learned of the financial struggles of a missionary group in Paris, she hatched a simple yet impactful idea: to invite others to pray for the Mission and contribute a penny each week to support their efforts.
