School Sisters of Notre Dame

The School Sisters of Notre Dame are an international congregation of women religious ministering in many countries. Wherever we are in the world, we are united through our prayer, community and ministry. Founded in Bavaria in 1833, our mission is to proclaim the Good News, directing our entire lives toward that oneness for which Jesus Christ was sent. Continuing the sacred work of our foundress, Blessed Theresa of Jesus Gerhardinger, we educate with a global vision, believing the world can be changed through the transformation of persons. We seek to empower others to reach the fullness of their potential, with special emphasis on women, youth and people who are poor or marginalized. Integral to our gospel commitment is our work for justice, peace and the integrity of creation.
