Cloistered nuns, who live the contemplative monastic life under the Rule of Saint Benedict, specifically focusing on Cistercian spirituality
As cloistered Nuns, we live the contemplative monastic life, under the Rule of Saint Benedict with specifically Cistercian spirituality. Our Order, founded in 1098, finds the heart of the Holy Rule in obedience, humility, silence, self-emptying, voluntary poverty, manual labor and above all that most excellent way: Charity. We are dedicated to the daily Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Holy Eucharist and the Divine Office. Our Office is sung in Cistercian chant in Latin. Study enables us to read and pray this beautiful and ancient language with understanding. Through our personal prayer of Sacred Scripture, study and work in silence within the monastic enclosure we cultivate a continual worship of God or union with God.
