Marriage & Family Life
News & Updates
September 2024
|
Dear Friends,
Happy Fall! I hope this finds you well and enjoying the last dregs of summer amidst the busy-ness that always returns to parish life this time of year.
Welcome, as well, to the first monthly Marriage & Family update email! As we enter a new year, one change we wanted to make was to provide greater focus on those who serve marriages and families in and around the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. We plan to send these emails each month; they'll include updates from our office on things like Marrige Preparation, but also resources, events, and opportunities for married couples, parents, and grandparents.
In our age, we all know (too well) the challenges that confront marriages and families. We also know how easily our focus is drawn to other parts of parish life. Let these emails be simple reminders and "easy lifts" for you to continue to build up the Domestic Church and the Sacrament of Matrimony at your parish!
If there is anything we can do to support you, please don't hesitate to reach out.
In Christ, Through Mary,
Doug, Tori, and Steffany

Marriage Preparation Updates
|
Last week at the Fall Day for Clergy and Parish Directors, we shared several reminders about the marriage preparation process. If you are involved in Marriage Preparation, please ask your parish priest to forward you the email. A few updates to highlight include:
In-Person Marriage Preparation Retreat Dates!
We still have room for couples to join us at Schoenstatt Retreat Center for 2 weekend-long retreats: November 8-10, 2024 and February 28-March 2, 2025.
Save the Date: Prepare/Enrich Inventory Training this December & January
Does your parish use Prepare/Enrich for their premarital inventory, or are you looking to change things up? We'll be hosting facilitator trainings this winter; registration will open in October's Newsletter, but for now save the dates:
- Tuesday, December 3 AND December 10 (2-part training), 6:00-8:30pm
- Saturday, January 18, 8:00am-Noon
Cost per facilitator (can be individual or couple) will be $150 and includes all materials.

NFP Perimenopause Prep Workshop
October 14 | 6:30 - 8:00PM
Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist
Cost: $15
|
Perimenopause Prep is an amazing opportunity to support parishioners as they navigate perimenopause (the years leading up to menopause) in their marriage, especially when it comes to practicing Natural Family Planning. Women will learn what to expect when using NFP (for health, self-knowledge, or family planning) through this time of shifting fertility.
