Dear Friends,
Happy New Year! I hope this finds you well (and warm!). There is lots of great information and news in this month's newsletter; the biggest news for our archdiocese remains, of course, the installation of our new Archbishop Jeffrey S. Grob on January 14!
Finally, if you are a parish catechetical staffer, don't forget to join us at our upcoming Staff Mission Days next month! Thanks for all you do for marriages and families in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.
In Christ,
Doug

Father Strand will provide an historical overview of 20th century developments in the Church's articulation of the meaning of conjugal love. He will argue that Pope Saint Paul VI's contribution to this discussion in Humane Vitae not only synthesized Church teaching on contraception but also would become the basis for the Church's response to IVF. He will encourage health care professionals to remember they cannot be good physicians without first being good metaphysicians.

Published in 2024, The Anxious Generation investigates how social media has significantly and tragically interfered with children's social and neurological development. Author Jonathan Haidt's book isn't only for parish leaders. Technology and social media impact children wherever they are, whether at school or at home. This is a great book to read to understand our world, and a great opportunity to pass on to your families and even attend yourself!

Each year close to Valentine's Day, a special week is set aside to honor and uphold marriage across the United States. The USCCB has organized several resources for parishes to observe National Marriage Week. We encourage your parish to discuss how you might observe this week and lend support to the marriages in your parish!
