Marriage & Family Life
News & Updates
February 2025

Dear Friends,
I hope this finds you well and ready to enter another Lent (which begins in less than a week!). It is a busy time for our office, and I know it's even busier for you. So this month, we'll keep this newsletter short and sweet. Please see the important info and events coming up in March below and help us spread the word to your couples, families, and individuals.
Finally, please make sure you take time this Lent for your own spiritual health. Whether that's jumping in with Emmaus 90 or going on your own retreat, make some time for you and Jesus. I'll be praying with Pope Francis' 2025 Lent Message and Pope Benedict's encyclical on Hope (to match this Jubilee Year). If you need any suggestions, try one of those! Let's not forget to pray for the Holy Father's strength and health, too.
Know that I'm praying for you - thank you for all you do to strengthen marriage and family life in our archdiocese.
- Doug

As part of the Jubilee Year, Archbishop Grob is inviting civilly married couples to explore having their union validated in the Church. Our offices have created several resources to help your parish promote and walk with couples who approach the parish. Please share this with your pastor, and find all the files in this Dropbox folder. Promo materials are also available on the Jubilee Year webpage.

12 Hours of Reconciliation | Wednesday, April 9th, 2025
|
During the season of Lent of this Jubilee Year, Archbishop Grob has asked that the faithful of the archdiocese observe April 9 as a Day of Reconciliation, Reparation, and Fasting. On that Wednesday, area priests will be available for the sacrament of Reconciliation at 11 parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. Please help promote this to your parish!

With John A. Di Camillo
Saturday, March 8, 2025 | 8AM | $5-10
Countless lives have been saved through vital organ transplantation. People considering organ donation may not understand what "brain death" is, how it is determined in practice, and how this relates to Church teaching on vital organ donation. John will discuss the medical realities, latest medical facts and relevant moral principles alongside the Church teachings.
