I pray that your catechetical year is off to a great start!
Bishop Scheurman asked me to pass along a letter he has written in regards to the confirmation letters/questionnaires that confirmandi send prior to their Confirmation. He speaks beautifully and with a father's heart about how seriously he takes what the students are writing; some things that are deeply personal and often times alarming. I have included his letter - please read it is as you are able.
Please make sure that you give yourself enough time read through the letters/questionnaires prior to sending them in, making the necessary notes for our bishops ahead of time. This will help ensure that the pastoral needs of these students are being attended to through the appropriate channels.
