Catechetics News & Updates
October 2024

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
As we welcome the arrival of fall, I find joy in the cooler temperatures and the delightful aromas of the season. Fall symbolizes a time of transition and renewal- new clothes, new schedules, new challenges, and new opportunities.
After considerable prayer and discernment, I am excited to announce that I will be transitioning from my role in the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis (OEC) to a new position within the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. Effective Monday, October 7, I will assume the role of Associate Director of the Lay Initiative.
The mission of the Lay Initiative Office is to raise awareness, form, and support qualified lay individuals to serve in our parishes and Catholic schools. I am eager to engage in research, collaboration, and learning with other archdiocesan offices and beyond to develop pathways for formation that will support our parish and school lay staff.
I have greatly enjoyed my time with the OEC team and look forward to continued collaboration with this office. Although my new position begins on Monday, I will continue to support all things Youth Evangelization through the end of the calendar year.
Thank you for your prayers and encouragement during this transition.
Peace,
Meg

Initiation Workshop (RCIA/OCIA)
November 12th from 1:00 - 4:00PM | MMCPC | No Cost
|
During this workshop, we will explain the vision of Christian Initiation of Adults, the necessary steps of the formation process, which rites apply to which people, Canon Law issues related to initiation, as how to build an effective formation team and process at your parish.
We are requesting at least one representative from each parish to attend this workshop. Anyone who is involved in the initiation process (priests, deacons, parish directors, pastoral staff, team members) will find value in the afternoon and are encouraged to attend.

Morning of Recollection
December 3rd from 10:00AM - 12:00PM
Location TBD (Ozaukee/Washington County area)
|
If we want to lead our young people closer to Jesus, we must first have deep intimacy with Him! With the myriad tasks and duties involved in our work, it is so difficult to make time for that heart-to-heart with Jesus. Join us for a short retreat and time of prayer this Lent. Be inspired by Fr. Andrew Infanger (Chaplain and Director of Campus Ministry - UW Milwaukee), be healed through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and spend some quiet time with our Lord. All this will help us head back to our families and mission fields ready to pour ourselves out for the sake of the Gospel!
