Catechetics News & Updates
December 2024

Dear Friends
Happy Advent! This is my favorite season of the year, and I know it's many of yours as well. As we try to pack in 2 months of activities into a few short weeks, it can be a challenge to create space to wait upon the Lord. There are so many things to do - how could we possibly get all of it done if we "waste" any time sitting around?!
In my Advent reflection book, Bishop Barron challenged readers to add a half- or full hour of Adoration to our schedules this Advent. Adoration, moreso than almost any other prayer, embodies the spirit of waiting and longing that the Church bids us to during the Advent season. To sit with the Lord, giving Him our anxieties, problems, and our joys, and bidding Him to come and make His will done in all of them.
So, to keep things short and sweet this month, I'll wrap by saying that is a challenge I'm committing to this Advent, and I welcome you to join me. Our whole team is praying for you often, and we wish you the holiest and happiest of Advent and Christmas seasons!
In Christ,
Doug (with Anh and Meg)
