Global Awareness for Solidarity (GAFS) Announces Blessed Are the Compassionate

Global Awareness for Solidarity (GAFS) invites you to join them for reflection and celebration on December 6, 2009.

The event is titled: Blessed are the Compassionate...Celebrating Two Wisconsin Women Missioners. The event will focus on Mary J McCormick, from Holy Rosary Parish in Milwaukee, who was a missioner in Bogota, Columbia, and Carol Piette, M.M., from St. Mary Parish in Appleton, who was a missioner in Chile and El Salvador. The event highlights a new kind of beatitude:
"Blessed are the compassionate, for they will show us the way."

The event will feature a scripture reflection by Bishop Richard Sklba; Personal tributes by Mary McCormick's family and Joan Ratermann, MM; and a "Call to Compassion" by Margaret Swedish.

The event will take place at Holy Rosary Church of Three Holy Women Parish at 2011 N. Oakland Ave. Milwaukee, WI from 1:45 to 4:30 pm on December 6, 2009. (Church is on the corner of Oakland and Lafayette. The parking lot is behind the church off of Bartlett Ave.)
